23.06.08 US tour pt.1

Here's a short report on our first week in the fabulous United States of America!
June 10th, first day. We had to get up way too early. Only slept for 2 solid hours. LA here we come! Flight to London was relaxed, but the 11 hour flight to LA, heavy shit! Luckily enough the hostess liked Michel a lot, so we could get extra drinks and food. Even noodles! Only Bram wasn't that lucky. Dries & I spilled our whole box of Thai noodles over Bram's British Airways chair. Hah! Smelly shit this curry.. Arrival at LAX. Cool motel, swimming pool incl. Tested immediately.
June 11th: Public relations and spending money. Both succeeded. Pretty tired of the flight yesterday. Jetlag or not, we went eating sushi, but Dries didn't like the eel.
June 12th, first show day. Got up and went swimming. Nothing special, till we were interrupted by a couple having a heated discussion. The guy had caught his wife in the act with another man in one of the motel rooms. After some wild shouting he decided to leave with car and without wife, she jumped on the hood of his car, he didn't care and drove away with his fat wife still on the car, but then we lost sight of them... crazy shit!
First show this evening, yihaa, we're excited!
Oh, we were in the San Diego Tribune, described as probably the best thing ever happened in the Belgian history of rock music. Can't believe it! We were also in Playboy! hahaa! not on the cover of course.. And we're marked as a band to watch certainly this week in San Francisco. Cool!
First show was good, small venue, small stage, but since there's only the two of us, we don't care about it. Enough energy on stage to feed a sold out AB. The promotor rocked! After the show she took us to the Viper Room, a bit further on Sunset. Almost got me some tattoos in one of the shops on Sunset and then someone started streaking in the middle of Sunset. Nice evening.
Second show in San Diego, close to the border of Mexico, but Mexico's for another time. Nice venue, bigger than On The Rox in LA. Only one problem.. the securitiy guys didn't want to let us in. Too young. The deal : get in for the set and then out within seconds. The show was great! Both security guards, who never left their eyes off the stage, really liked it. One of them came to us upon the last note of "Set Your Head On Fire" and commented : Wow guys! You're gonna be fucking super stars!!.. But now get the fuck out of here! Luckily we had some beers with the promotor in the garage in the back of the venue.
Third show was great too.. Spaceland in el ay. What a cool venue! Looked like we had landed in a rock 'n' roll movie, 30 years back in time..
We're in NYC right now. Tonight we're playing at Piano's, one of the better venues in town.. It will be fun, yes! More soon.

7.06.08 US Tour slight changes
Last night they've made some slight changes in our tour schedule.
June 14th we'll play at Spaceland in LA instead of The Scene in Glendale, and June 18th we won't play at Annie's Social Club but at Kimo's in San Francisco.
